Dr. Rıza Özgür Altun is a multidisciplinary educator and consultant whose work bridges the fields of art, sports, and communication. With a diverse academic background and over two decades of experience, he designs and delivers innovative programs that promote personal development, inclusive practices, and organizational transformation.
He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Exercise and Sport Sciences from Istanbul University, a master’s degree in Movement Analysis from Istanbul Technical University, and a Ph.D. from Yıldız Technical University, where he developed a pioneering program on social dance adaptations for individuals with disabilities.
His academic focus lies in the integration of movement and art, with a specialization in adaptive rhythm and dance education for people with disabilities. Currently, he serves as a lecturer at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, contributing to inclusive education through his teaching and research.
In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Altun is a certified family counselor, art therapist, and trainer-of-trainers. He serves as the Chair of the Paradance Education Committee of the Turkish Dance Sports Federation, and is a Level 2 Argentine Tango Coach and Judge, actively participating in national and international platforms.
Dr. Altun has led and participated in numerous international and national projects, and has worked with the Turkish Ministry of Youth and Sports as a trainer. As a board member of the Recreation Association, he continues to develop community-based projects that promote the social integration of art and sports.
His corporate training programs focus on intergenerational communication, time management, and performance enhancement, aiming to create more effective and inclusive work environments. He helps individuals and teams optimize their productivity through practical strategies rooted in rhythm, body awareness, and movement coordination.
Beyond academia and consulting, he has long-standing experience in theater, kickboxing, and music. He began his journey in theater in 2000, has been involved in both amateur and professional productions, and holds a second-degree black belt and coaching license in kickboxing. He continues his musical studies in tanbur and guitar, having trained with world-renowned musicians Özer Özel and Tolgahan Çoğulu.
Dr. Rıza Özgür Altun currently has two published books, and continues to contribute to his fields through academic publications, scientific research, and public education. His mission is to use the unifying power of movement, music, and communication to foster resilience, creativity, and connection—both in individuals and institutions.
